About Me

Hi everyone, I’m Kristie and I’m a self-confessed horror addict.

As a child of the 80s, my youth was spent roaming video store aisles, perusing VHS covers, and adding titles to my ever-growing watchlist.

Fast forward about 30 years (we won’t go into specifics here), and now it’s streaming services and online watch parties, but I still love a trip to the cinema with friends!

About NZ Horror Fans

Which brings us to NZ Horror Fans.

It originally began as a meetup group after I moved to Auckland from Canada in 2018. I wanted to find other scary movie lovers to hang out with because after all, horror is best when you have somebody to scream with!

The meetup quickly grew to over 1,500 people and we still have regular get togethers online and IRL (lockdowns permitting of course).

Now, the group has morphed into a standalone website, as well as a Facebook page and group, with the goal being to give Kiwi horror fans a voice.
